Blue Division soldiers coat.
This coat belonged to a Blue Division soldier (Spanish troops fighting in the Wehrmacht). It was once a full size greatcoat, but was shortened at some point by the wearere, most likely due to his role as an artillery man, in which he had to be seated for long periods of time, making a long coat possibly an uncomfortable item of clothing to wear.
It features a ribbon for the Russian front medal, awarded to all troops that participated in the invasion of the Soviet Union. On the sleeve there is a homemade Blue Division patch, this style of patch is known as a "parche de madrina" or "godmother patch" as most were made by families or godmothers as parting gifts for soldiers, a very common sight to see in Spanish uniforms belonging to Blue Division veterans.
It includes two sets of shoulderboards, a pair of german artillery shoulderboards and a pair of Spanish pre 1943 regulation shoulderboards with some very elaborate embroidery.
As part of the set you will also receive an Astra 300 (Spanish pistol) holster and leather strap, which came from the same soldier.
