German WW2 officers sidecap

This particular example of an officers sidecap has never had any soutache attached, which means it could be used by any officer of any branch in the german military (Heer). Another interesting detail, it comes with what seems to be a factory flaw, its missing both of its side vents, though it has a mark as if they should be there (they never got put on), the marks got made when the cloth was cut in preparation for the fittings to be placed, but as they never did, the holes remained closed (this is barely noticeable, but its an interesting detail)

This particular example has a flat cloth eagle and a metal cockade. There is no damage present or any flaws excluding some areas where the cloth has gone a little thin or lost its nap, but there arent any markings either. We believe this cap dates around 1943, though it is of quite high quality.

At a size 56, it fits well on most manequin heads on the market. A great adition to any collection.
