German army I G.M. armour and helmet set with steel faceplate.
Called grabenpanzer (grabenpanzer) was widely used by assault troops and engineer corps.
Made of 4 pieces of steel joined by straps at the back.
This set was exhibited in the museum of Montjuic from the 60's until its closure in 2010.
The three pieces of helmet, frontal protection and armour have a lead seal with the museum's inventory number 712.
The end plate of the armour was fitted in the 1960s as it was not available.
The helmet is the German model M-1916, which differs from the later model M-1917 in that the frame ring supporting the armour is made of metal, whereas in our model it is made of leather.
The helmet and steel plate are marked with manufacturing markings.
The helmet fastening strap was purchased separately.
The leather chinstrap is a quality reproduction.
